The father-to-be revealed the drama today (Monday) as he promoted new single Candy on radio stations all over central London.

Asking the popular host for some advice, Robbie started: 'I've had a bit of a falling out with the wife.
He continued: 'So I've got gigs this week, the baby could come at any minute, the wife has said, "If I go into labour and you've got a gig in say Leeds or Dublin, you've got to cancel it and come home."
'I put it to you Chris Evans, I ask you, please tell me what I should do?'

Admitting that it wasn't long ago that he was in the exact same situation as Robbie, Evans told him to have a helicopter on standby in case his wife should go into labour during one of his shows away from home.
Paying no mind to the radio DJs advice Robbie continued: 'I'm going to pretend. This is what I'm going to tell her [Ayda] there is some helicopter behind the gig in Dublin, but that's expensive, so I'm not really going to do it.'
He added: 'I'm going to tell her that's there and then keep my fingers crossed.'
Sticking to the ethos that that show must go on, Williams argued his case as Chris warned him that the birth of his baby, and told him: 'She'll probably be overdue because it's her first ... However don't say there's anything standing by if that isn't standing by.'
Refusing to take note, the former Take That star said: 'I'm going to. I'm just going to lie'.

Fans who had been listening on, were quick to text in with their comments about Robbie's dilemma.
One wrote: 'Drop everything and go. Your fans will understand, I'm one, I am coming to the gig, it won't matter to me.'
Another one sent a message that read, in capital letters: 'Go to your wife Robbie'.
Joking he continued: 'I'm getting it. It's slowly coming to me.
Shocked by the response, Robbie said: 'Oooh - everyone seems to be very understanding.'
And after finding out live on air that he was insured for child birth if he did leave the show, he quickly changed his tune: 'Wherever I am, I'm sorry I've got to to leave that's cool - I'm sorted.'

Showcasing his built physique, the singer donned an ensemble which was a cross between smart and casual, as he exited the radio station with his thumbs up.
Robbie teamed his black V-neck with a pair of navy tailored trousers, a leather tuxedo belt and black shoes.
The Let Me Entertain You performer also stopped to take pictures with some fans before he headed on to his next interview with Radio 1's Chris Moyles.

Candy was co-written and produced by Robbie's good friend and former band mate Gary Barlow.
Speaking about the single, the Williams said: 'It's a summer song about a girl who thinks she's great. And she might be, but she's a bit nefarious with her ways.'
And Chris Evans referred to it as 'an instant number one'.
On the micro-blogging site this morning, the singer uploaded a picture of the artwork for the single which is a mask of Robbie's head covered in pink spots.

Last month the Take That singer posted a topless snap of himself flexing his muscles on Twitter.
Robbie had clearly undergone a gruelling workout regime to develop such impressive biceps, abs and chest muscles.

And in addition to showing off his rock hard shape the picture also highlighted the singer's extensive collection of body art.
