Paul Brayshaw has made the Saltdean Sizzler pizza which is believed to be the hottest pizza in the world

It is three times hotter than the world’s strongest chilli and even police pepper spray.
So it is perhaps unsurprising that only nine people have ever completed the Saltdean Sizzler pizza.
Spicy food fanatic Paul Brayshaw has created the pizza, which he believes is the hottest in the world.

The 32-year-old, who owns Paul’s Pizza in Saltdean near Brighton, East Sussex, has sold 1,307 of the pizzas since he started making them last year.
But only eight men and one woman have ended up on the ‘Wall of Flame’ to prove their success in eating the pizza.
Those who have failed end up on the ‘Wall of Shame’ inside dad-of-two Mr Brayshaw’s restaurant.

He said: ‘I have always loved spicy food and that was what initially put the idea in my head.
‘I also like watching the programme Man vs Food and that inspired me to add this to my menu.
‘The pizza starts of a nice red tomato colour but adding the sauce turns it into an evil black/red.’

Mr Brayshaw says he has only ever eaten two slices of the pizza - you need to complete all six before being allowed on the ‘Wall of Flame’.

He has contacted the Guinness World Record’s office who told him to send his pizza away for testing at Warwick University.

He is waiting for confirmation to say this is the spiciest pizza in the world but says he was told by the Guinness World Record office that if he managed to get over 1 million on the Scovell scale it would be the spiciest on record.
He creates this level of spiciness by using one of the world’s hottest chillies - the ghost chilli - and making a chilli paste with chilli extract to bring the spice level up.
The 10 inch pizza - which sells for £10.99 - has a standard pepperoni topping but this can be removed for vegetarians without compromising on spice.

Mr Brayshaw said friends of his who had completed the challenge had said that the after affects the next day were ‘far worse’ then eating the pizza.

He said: ‘We close at 10pm so just before the pubs shut.
‘Otherwise I think we would get a lot of drunk people in here having a go without realising just how spicy this pizza is.’

One of those who have attempted to take on the hottest pizza in the world is 28-year-old Christopher Barnard.
He said: 'The pain started before I had even bitten into it. As soon as it touched my lips they were on fire.
'There was no pleasure. Just pain. It was unbearable. I was scared about swallowing it. The pain subsided after 20 minutes but then the relentless stomach ache started.
'I would never do it again. I would not wish it on anyone.'

X Factor's Lucy Spraggan has signed a contract with Columbia and is set to release her debut album later this year

She was one of last year's favourites to win The X Factor, until she had to bow out of the competition due to illness.
But when Lucy told her fans that they hadn't seen the last of her she wasn't wrong, as she's just signed a major record contract with Columbia.
The singer/songwriter is set to release her debut album later on this year as well as a headline UK tour next month.

Lucy was picked for the singing competition last year after getting a standing ovation while performing her self-penned track Last Night.

She was then put through to live shows by mentor Tulisa but ultimately finished in ninth place after dropping out due to ill health.
The 21-year-old from Sheffield has clearly been busy since her X Factor exit, putting in the studio hours so that her album will be ready this year.

'I'm really excited to be working with Columbia, it is such a respected label with an incredible heritage,' said Lucy.
'To be signed to the company who have worked with great icons like Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen and the newer generation of artists like Calvin Harris and Rita Ora is amazing - I can't wait,' she added.
Proving her enduring popularity, Lucy's tour has already sold out with six extra dates now added due to popular demand.
'Lucy is a refreshingly honest and naturally gifted storyteller who walks to the beat of her own drum,' said Co-President of Columbia Alison Donald.
Put her through: Tulisa chose Lucy as one of her three acts to put through to the live shows, and admitted to being 'gutted' when she left

'Her song-writing very much fits in with the tradition and artistry of the Columbia ethos and we are absolutely delighted to have her on board,' she continued.
Despite leaving half way through the X Factor live shows, Lucy returned for live final in December.
She was over-the-moon to be reunited with best pal Rylan Clarke after they developed a close friendship during the show.
Clearly pleased with her new record deal, Lucy tweeted on Wednesday, saying: 'I am incredibly proud to tell you... I am officially signed to Columbia Records! Prepare for some music!'

Brandi Chastain injured her leg during a high dive as she practiced fot Splash on Wednesday

In these straightened times it makes sense that we expect our celebrities to sing for their suppers.
We're all struggling, so why shouldn't they have to work that little bit harder for their moments in the sun? (And all the easy money opportunities that go along with them).
But they're not just singing for their suppers now, they're dancing for them, surviving in the jungle for a last chance grasp at fame and now, risking limbs to dive their way back into the public's affections.

NBC's Splash could be the most dangerous way yet for stars to try and halt their slide into obscurity.
Chelsea Handler's sidekick Chuy Bravo has already left the competition after injuring his foot falling off a table, and now soccer star Brandi Chastain has hurt her leg... quite badly too.

On Tuesday, she took a tumble during rehearsals and nearly took her trainer out; but having escaped that close brush, Wednesday saw the 44-year-old really injure herself.

The ripped athlete could be seen sporting substantial bandages on her left leg at the rehearsal lot for the tough show.
Chuy was devastated to have to leave the show, and Katherine Webb has been spotted in tears as he tried to perfect her technique.

Chuy said, rather hopefully: ''It is very unfortunate but I will not be able to continue in this competition, don't worry world I will be back for season two.'

Flt Lt Wales is the aircraft captain when the crew is called to an old slate quarry where a local boy has fallen dangerously off an old railway bridge onto rocks

Viewers are to get a close-up look at Prince William at work in his role as a rescue helicopter pilot.
He features in the four-part BBC reality series which starts next month.
Helicopter Rescue follows several search and rescue crews, including those based at RAF Valley on Anglesey where Flight Lieutenant Wales – as the prince is known – is based.
In the first episode, William, 30, will be seen captaining his Sea King helicopter to help save a boy who has fallen into an old slate quarry in Blaenau Ffestiniog.
The unnamed youngster has fallen from an old railway bridge onto an outcrop of jagged rocks below when the prince is dispatched to lead the rescue.
Williams, who is part of a four-man crew, is featured speaking on camera describing his role once the call comes in.
He says: 'As captain you’re trying to play out the entire rescue... in your mind and pick up any problems you can foresee, and try and fix them on the ground before you get airborne.'
William adds: 'There’s no greater feeling than when you’ve actually done some good and saved someone’s life. I don’t think there’s any greater calling in life... to be able to see a son or daughter’s face when you bring their mother or father back from the edge of death – it’s quite powerful.'
Winchman and paramedic, Master Aircrewman Richard Taylor, also describes just how treacherous rescue work can be, as a decision is made that they should winch the casualty on board the helicopter on a stretcher as the prince hovers overhead.

'It’s a challenging procedure,' he says, 'and inherently dangerous to put a man on a very thin piece of wire, hanging underneath nine tons of helicopter that’s susceptible to turbulence and problems itself, and may have to fly away.'
The series will also show the prince’s day-to-day life at RAF Valley.
A spokesman for the prince said of his decision to participate in the four-part fly-on-the-wall show: 'Prince William is but one of many participants and his contribution is exactly the same as the other pilots.
'He is one of a team, and the team as a whole is the subject of the documentary, so it was entirely appropriate he took part.'
Palace officials are due to announce within weeks whether he will stay in the RAF after his three-tenure ends this autumn.
It is widely believed that, with his first child due this summer, William will transfer to a role nearer to London.

Helen Flanagan wears a variety of revealing ensembles in a shoot to launch a new Manchester ten-pin bowling venue

Her revealing ensembles and gym-honed curves have led to her being labelled 'striking' in the past.
But as she posed up for a new shoot last week, Helen Flanagan managed to live up to her reputation in more ways than one as she launched a new bowling venue in Manchester.
Helen, 22, sported a variety of eye-catching ensembles for the shoot, although stopped short of actually wearing the infamously ugly bowling shoes herself.

Instead, Helen opted for a strappy pair of orange sandals as she posed next to a rack of the footwear.
Helen teamed the shoes with pair of figure-hugging white trousers and a black and white football jersey as she reclined provocatively on the floor, with her blonde hair teased into bombshell curls.
In another shot, Helen wears a cropped white T-shirt and low-slung blue jogging bottoms while holding a cocktail and laying across the bar.

Other ensembles include a heart-print crop top and tight, light-coloured jeans, as well as a baseball jacket with a denim miniskirt and an on-trend black dress and woollen hat.
Helen posed for the pictures, styled by Jodie Stringfellow, to launch late night ten pin bowling venue Dog Bowl - the third venture from Black Dog Ballroom.
As well as bowling lanes, the venue includes Black Dog Ballroom's speakeasy and diner - serving good and drinks including cocktails, quesadillas, BBQ grilled steak, fried chicken and fajitas late into the night.

Kieran Haylor looked comfortable with pregnant wife Katie Price's children as they had a family day out on Tuesday

He found out last month that he's about to become a father, after new wife Katie Price announced her pregnancy.
So it's no surprise that Kieran Hayler, 25, is getting in some practice with the glamour model's three children, looking like a doting step-dad as they had a family day out on Tuesday.
Having clearly built a strong relationship with the little ones, despite the fact that he only met their mother a few months, the stripper held hands with little Princess Tiaamii as they walked around central London.

Earlier in the day, Katie had dressed as a pink panto horse to promote the anniversary of her KP Equestrian range, but she looked a little more casual as she wandered around town.

The 34-year-old is clearly body-confident despite her changing figure, wearing a pair of skintight leather trousers and a long green T-shirt.
She added a pair of high top trainers and wrapped a cropped furry black jacket around her shoulders as she stuck close to her kids.

But if she was trying to go incognito then she was going the wrong way about it, wearing a bizarre pair of goggle-style sunglasses, adding to her attention-grabbing outfit.
Kieran may be a fairly new addition to the family, but he seemed completely relaxed around the little ones, chatting away to them as they wandered along.
Although he tied the knot with Katie in Barbados in January after a two month romance, the pair are reportedly set to wed again this week for their friends and family.
According to The Mirror, the couple will have a ceremony in Weston-super-Mare on Friday, swapping it from the planned date of Friday.

'Katie had planned all along to have the ceremony on the Saturday but she had been trying to keep it all hush-hush,' said a source.
'Once it became public knowledge, she quickly moved everything around. It obviously caused a lot of work for some of the people involved, because weddings are normally planned so far in advance.'
Meanwhile, reports have emerged that she and ex-husband Peter Andre - the father of Junior and six-year-old Princess - could finally be putting their years of arguments behind them to meet face-to-face.
According to heat magazine, Katie and Peter are planning to speak properly in what will be their first proper encounter since December 2011.

Clearly being surrounded by other beauties was enough to spur Cara on to make the extra effort

Perhaps her friendship with Rita Ora is the reason behind her often dressed down and unimpressive style of fashion.
But surrounded by her fellow models Cara Delevingne proved that she can scrub up well when needed.
