Clearly being surrounded by other beauties was enough to spur Cara on to make the extra effort

Perhaps her friendship with Rita Ora is the reason behind her often dressed down and unimpressive style of fashion.
But surrounded by her fellow models Cara Delevingne proved that she can scrub up well when needed.
The 20-year-old looked amazing as she attended the Melissa and Karl Lagerfeld Collaboration Celebratory Dinner in New York City on Tuesday.

Clearly being surrounded by other models was enough to spur Cara on to make the extra effort of dressing well and combing her hair.
There was not a baggy shirt or wool hat in sight as the British star joined models Toni Ward, Constance Jablonski, Karlie Kloss and Hilary Rhoda.
Cara looked lovely and feminine as she wore a silver top with Hudson Juliette jeans which she teamed with a cropped black blazer.

The model seemed particularly keen to show off her black shoes which featured a glittery purple patch at the rear.
She may not have officially been at work, but Cara and her friends couldn't help but band together for an impromptu photograph.

While Karl Lagerfeld was leading the pack in terms of fashion, his shadow Sebastien Jondeau cut a cool figure in a three-piece pin stripe suit.
American DJ and model Leigh Lezark opted for an office chic look as she teamed a white blouse with a black skirt.
Brazilian model Jeísa Chiminazzo was striking in an all black and added some contrast with a white waistcoat.
The dinner was in celebration Lagerfeld's first design of the eco-friendly colorful jelly shoes for Brazilian brand Melissa.
The eccentric fashion supremo plans on releasing collections for the brand for the next four season with the first one being the autumn/winter 2013 styles.
Melissa has previously collaborated with big names such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood and Victoria's Secret angel Alessandra Ambrosio.
