Top 10 Matt Damon Movies on Satellite TV

Matt Damon is one of Hollywood's most popular leading men, and he has starred in some of the most beloved movies of all time. If it has been awhile since you checked out your favorite Matt Damon film, here is a list of his ten best. Whether you watch them in high definition or on your ten year old tv, you're sure to enjoy the experience!

Good Will Hunting (1997)- In the role that made him famous, Matt starred as Will Hunting, a genius from the wrong side of the tracks. Matt wrote the film with fellow actor and childhood friend Ben Affleck, and the two shared in winning the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. It is an incredible film about healing and redemption.

The Rainmaker (1997)- In this courtroom drama, Matt plays an idealistic young lawyer who takes on a corrupt insurance company. Teaming up with an 'ambulance chaser,' he goes to bat for an elderly couple whose son will die if he does not get a crucial operation.

Saving Private Ryan (1998)- An epic World War II film from legendary director Steven Spielberg, about a group of US soldiers who must rescue Private James Francis Ryan (played by Matt) after all his brothers have been killed in action. The battle scenes are gory, but the film is incredibly powerful. Watch it in high definition to get the full effect.

Rounders (1998)- In this tense movie about
high stakes poker, Matt plays Mike McDermott, a reformed player who must return to playing in order to help a friend repay a debt.

The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999)- Joining an all star cast that includes Gwyenth Paltrow, Jude Law and Cate Blanchett, Matt plays a young con artist who jets off to Italy under the guise of bringing back trust fund baby Dickie Greenleaf (played by Jude Law). Matt becomes obsessed with Dickie and his fianc� Marge, and goes to extreme measures to stay connected to the couple.

The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000)- In this inspiring sports movie, Matt stars as Rannulp Junnah, a former champion golfer who becomes disillusioned following a tour in World War I. He is reluctant to return to the game, until his caddy, Bagger Vance, inspires him to overcome the obstacles that have been holding him back.


All The Pretty Horses (2000)- Based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy, the movie tells the story of two cowboys from Texas who head to Mexico and subsequently find themselves in trouble with the law.. Matt plays John Grady Cole, one of the cowboys who winds up falling in love with the daughter of a wealthy rancher.

The Bourne Identity (2002)- The first in the series, and arguably the best. In this exciting action movie, Matt plays Jason Bourne, a man who is suffering from amnesia and must quickly rediscover his identity, as he is being hunted by assassins.

The Departed (2006)- In Martin Scorsese's gritty crime drama about the Irish mafia in Boston, Matt plays corrupt cop Colin Sullivan. Colin feeds information to crime boss Frank Costello (played by Jack Nicholson, as Costello's gang is also infiltrated by a mole from the Massachusetts State Police.

The Good Shepherd (2006)- This film about the emergence of the CIA features Matt as loyal public servant Edward Wilson, Taking place during the Cold War, Wilson must discover a leak that is believed to have taken place in the office. As he becomes more and more dedicated to his career, we see Wilson's personal life and ideals deteriorate.
