Matt Damon opts out of directorial debut; may still star

Matt Damon's directorial debut looks like no more, as he opts out of pulling triple duty on his untitled drama...
When you consider Matt Damon's current schedule, starring in Contagion and We Bought a Zoo while also filming Neill Blomkamp's Elysium, it's no wonder he hasn't got any time for Bourne anymore. But it looks like something else had to give, as his departure from the director's chair on his untitled project.

Not much in the way of plot is known of the film, but it was based on ideas from writer Dave Eggers and penned by Damon and The Office star John Krasinski. Both actors were lined up to star in the project, about a salesman who arrives in a small town.
No names have been given as possible replacements yet, but Damon's opting out seems to simply be about a lack of time to devote to the film. Fingers crossed Damon still finds time to star
