New images for the long delayed Margaret

It's taken six years to get Margaret to cinemas, but now we have some new shots of stars Anna Paquin, Matt Damon and Mark Ruffalo...
Six years in the making, Margaret has certainly hit a few roadblocks since it’s beginnings way back in 2005. Back then, director Kenneth Lonergan was enjoying the success of his debut film, You Can Count on Me.

He began making his sophomore effort in September 2005, and it wrapped a few months later. It was here, apparently, that Lonergan couldn’t decide on a final cut, and legal turmoil surrounding the film caused it to be shelved right up until now.
It’s got some formidable star talent as well, considering it was made six years ago. The film stars Anna Paquin, Mark Ruffalo, Matt Damon, Matthew Broderick, Jean Reno and Olivia Thirlby, a great line up of high and mid-profile stars.
The story takes place after a tragic bus crash, when a high school student tries to assign a deeper spiritual meaning to the tragedy. It deals with ideas of survivor’s guilt, which might strike a cord with Americans so soon after the 9/11 tenth anniversary.
Margaret will sneak into cinemas on September 30th in the US, but doesn’t currently have a UK release date.
