Steinfeld, whose performance in the film has been hailed by critics, looked pretty in a silver mini dress with purple sash and purple shoes.
The film, which is a remake of the 1969 John Wayne classic, is still widely expected to receive Oscar nominations.
However, it did not find favour with members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, who vote for the Golden Globes.

Other celebrities eager to see the film included Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi and actress Gretchen Mol.
Mol, 38, who is currently starring in HBO series Boardwalk Empire, showed off her growing baby bump in a black and white dress and black tights.
She is expecting her second child in February next year.

True Grit is directed by the Coen Brothers and seesJeff Bridges reprise John Wayne's role as the one-eyed Marshall Reuben 'Rooster' Cogburn.
Cogburn is hired by stubborn young girl Mattie Ross (newcomer Hailee Steinfeld) to help track down her father's murderer (Josh Brolin), and avenge his death.
The girl insists on accompanying Cogburn against his wishes, and the pair set out on a journey into the Indian nations.
Ross and Cogburn are joined by Texas Ranger LaBoeuf, played by Matt Damon, who has ulterior motives for hunting down the unsuspecting killer.
